Game Mechanics: Can't Attack Bug?

This not being able to attack thing I think has to do with melee classes casting spells...

Whenever I click my spyglass in combat my attacks end, and I cannot resume attacking until I turn attack off, clear my target, and then retarget a mob and attack.

It's a huge pain in the ass with PVP, ruins it in my opinion due to clickies being vital for dispells etc.
