Anyone who would kill themselves before getting what they "need" from freely accessible black markets must not have been that attached to life. How much was living as a woman really worth to this person? Does it not appear that this was a last-ditch effort at achieving the fantasy of a life where others carry you everywhere (including, apparently, to the pharmacy), with this last bit of effort required being the straw the broke the camel's back?
Or were they truly so incompetent that they knew nothing of this option? If that's the case, how were they competent to decide they need this treatment?
