If you just want to wander around I'd suggest resolving a bard

As a beginning player, I want insider information on how to play p99 from creation to level 10 i.e. what's the standard route I should take every time when creating a bard, monk, wizard etc... Anything up to that point I could pick up on my own. I want to create confidently and eliminate the potential worry that I "messed up at creation". I firmly believe that any small mistake at the beginning is going to be a big mistake at the end but I know these can be resolved with in game items but my 80 strength feels so weak right now.
I play rangers 'cuz they're fun and I enjoy role playing occasionally and being the comedian in the group. I don't give a rats behind about what people think about'em.

Something I'm trying to re-accustom myself to is race and class balance. Coming in to it, I actually forgot that race and class actually play a huge difference. Remembering all these little things; it's coming back to me...

In most cases though, it's wherever there is a group to join. This is one reason why places like gfay are popular, it's the population. But there are different routs depending on what you want to accomplish, such as gear drops, faction, xp, coin, or a mix of those. And that can be of varying importance depending on the player, the class and their play style. But where you are at in gfay, it's safe to say easy leveling in groups is the norm.

Funny that a little thing like weight can bite you in the butt later or even early for that fact. I look forward to soon farming Shralok packs and doing other things to mitigate my weight quandry. Thank you for that.

i wouldnt worry about it personally. just destroy stuff at earlier levels. everything junk wise you get at low levels is going to sell for silvers at the vender anyway, your time would be better spent getting levels than running back and forth to town. just keep items that sell to other players or lvl in spots where there is a vender close by and just buy and resell cheap items to get rid of your copper and silver without destroying it. starting off as a ranger will be tough but not impossible. once you get panic animal your life will become much easier. or if you can find a duo partner to hate kite with. back in the day this is how i leveled to 60....panic animal solo or snare/flame lick hate kiting with a melee partner.

As stated the best long term stat allocation for a ranger is +20 STA. You'll easily cap strength at higher levels; stamina is much harder to come by. Strength is not even really a mid-level concern.
What are you even carrying that takes up so much weight? Delete the copper and silver. Make a few more trips to the bank if you wanna sell those rusty weapons. If you are really concerned about strength, go to the wiki, select equipment -> equipment by class -> ranger equipment and click on each slot, then sort by strength. Hero bracers for example are +10 strength and cost 250p.

real answer: don't worry about your gear leveling up. get some jewelcrafted hp/ac rings, some banded armor, and the best weapon you can get. thats all you need to get level 60. there's a decent bow that drops in south karana that you can get pretty easily if you don't want to do fletching. make your first long term goals to save up for a woodsman's staff and a haste item (poor man's haste = hangman's noose or plane of sky belt)
you'll get gear upgrades as you go just playing the game. it's a bit slow at first, but once you get around level 40-60 you'll find a lot more opportunities to get loot with stats on it. as a ranger there is minimal competition from other players for a lot of the items you need.
