The Karanas are plagued!

If you zone into the Karanas, you'll notice a green tint on the horizon.

If you stay in the zone for a while, you'll notice you start to itch, or feel feverish, and so on.

If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, The Swarm Mother will appear with dozens of swarmlings and kill you (or you'll kill her like I did).

Nice! I actually remember this from classic! I'm going to have to go read up on what all there is too it, I just remember there being bugs =)

Are the clip planes for p99 correct?

I feel like I never noticed the fog 15 years ago, but here half the zones are like a blinding fog.

I recall it being a pretty heavy fog, and I don't remember being able to see blue sky above it... but for all I know that was a video driver/settings thing. I didn't have the most powerful or well-tuned hardware back in the day. Seems to me like it was just N and W Karana ... is it all 3 Karanas here that are plagued?

I probably scrapped the drive by now, but once upon a time I had a glamour shot of my Ranger in full Thorny Vine (minus one bracer IIRC) and a Woodsman's Staff standing in the Karanas with the green fog all around. That's about where ol' Thedge Evans hit his prime. Then I rolled a rogue and barely looked back. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

No Southern Karana and the Centaurs weren't affected, I honestly don't remember if East Karana was or not.

Yea this happened in North Karana, i'm not sure if it is in the other Karanas. Misleading thread title is misleading!

The plague happened in West and North Karana only. I believe the Swarm Mother spawned only in North, but I'm less certain about that.
