What these forums don't understand is most of the time players operate under the direction of common sense. Then 5 year old vets pretend they're new to the box & create glorious threads like this.

I haven't either, but apparently it's happened to him multiple times. I'm no saint in that zone, because I've sniped abandoned pawbusters in front of needy monks before. But for your own group to pull greed on you for an epic piece is just wrong.

Iv always followed nbg system even back on live it worked well no idea why people have a problem doing it on here guess it's the Ole mighty platinum whispering in your ear. I tend to roll for it if everyone's rolling if it's an upgrade and I win I normally pass it to the person who could use it I feel better knowing it's being used for a good purpose rather then money hungry people hell iv had items returned to me when they found an even better upgrade. So sometimes it works in your favor. Sucks these kind of things happen but what can you do?

30k to most people isn't going to be 30k padding their already multiple 100s of thousands bank roll. A 30k drop in a pickup group, for most people, equates to a serious set of buyable upgrades for their characters.
The one monk in a group of 6 people has his 1:6 chance to win it. If he/she won, they've got the choice to keep the overpriced piece of gear or sell it for 30k and buy better dps weapons, a better haste item, or several minor upgrades and a set of blue diamond resist gear. Everybody rolls. Everybody has a chance to win. Doesn't get more fair than that. 99.9% of these threads are generated by someone who felt they needed to be gifted a really expensive item that was a viable means for upgrades for the other 5 people in their group.

First of all, the dude was in an LCY full group getting XP as a monk and not duoing or smaller grouping somewhere with better XP that isn't KC. Second, he didn't drop group and solo the mob with the TStaff and take it for himself. Third, he didn't offer the group members cash to take the item himself. I understand not everyone is rolling in plat but if he was really a "veteran" he would probably have some plat to throw around and for example offered each group member 3k each and got the staff for himself. Some neckbeard diplomacy could have easily gone a long way here. There are plenty of people here who play for a very long time and don't hit 60 for a very long time, if ever. Goes to show you how much things like Chardok AOE have totally skewed the path to 60 on this server and who is really a "veteran" and who is really a "nub." You can play for years and still be a "nub." On P99 you can get multiple characters to 60 and still be a "nub." This whole debacle screams "nub" any way you dissect it.

OP would probably be surprised to find out that a lot of people on this server are awesome and are totally willing to cut you a sweetheart deal on the item they just won, as long as you aren't a dick about things
