Having spent about 2 of the last 24 months in Japan (Tokyo specifically); horrifying anime is not Japanese culture. At least not "normal" Japanese culture. They look down on their nerds much more intensely than we look down on our nerds, at least in my experience.

Instead they look up at women squirting milk out of their assholes at men in business suits.
