I've been wondering on bare minimum for AoW and I can't see below 55-60 in its current format which if you remove our buffers is probably where we are at..

Honestly I think the only reason red even remains open anymore is to act as a makeshift deterrent to keep a lot of people off of his blue server. Nizzar played blue and was a huge exploiter. He was eventually banished from project1999 until red opened then he started here.

If you need any examples of biased staff favoritism and hatred look no further than when he nuked Holocaust 1.0 and then broadcasted the punishment in a server wide message which goes completely against his own policy of not discussing punishments with the general public.

Then there's the fact that staff completely neglect the vast majority of issues and petitions on red while claiming that "the playerbase is too toxic" or "the issues dealing with LNS, training, or PVP are very time consuming." Nevermind the fact that blue players petition 24/7 over camp disputes and there's a 2000 page legal document on the raid scene and rules of FTE. It's all bullshit.

I wouldn't even care that the staff doesn't give a shit about red99 if they at least were honest about it, but they are not.
There are some staffers that spend time on red, at least until they figure out the type of people they're dealing with.

The only thing hard about EQ raiding is finding the time to get keyed, the actual mechanics involved are more basic than normal level WoW raiding. Your cutting edge "progression guild" isn't like a bunch of Navy SEALs. This content has been done hundreds of thousands of times on other boxes, by the very people who are doing it on this one, for the ten thousandth time.

Nihilum did VP with 40-50+ because this online world has become their cardboard box home that they have to protect at all costs. Those dragons were easy with ~20. Empire is just the extension of the same policies. Someday, someone will do AoW with 33, and it will be on the blue server. Meanwhile, Empire will continue to hemorrhage players and recruit even more as people realize that no amount of pixels makes up for the abrasive personalities that dominate your guild chat.

You can play this game however you want, but it won't change the fact that the developer of this box considers you the short bus crew and the MMO industry in general continues to develop systems that prevent this mentality from corrupting upcoming releases.
There is nothing all that difficult in EQ raids, it is for the most part purely numbers. But you seem to somehow want to blame the players for recruiting enough players to clear the content. If Rogean didn't want a 70 man raid to clear AoW on red he could have made AoW killable by 35 people, but he didn't. To have a 70 man raid on red with the population as it is, you're gonna have a huge chunk of the max level population - to the point where it is very difficult if not impossible for a second guild to form and contest.

The fact that almost any game since EQ pre PoP didn't do open world progression content is because they realized they fucked up and started the whole arms race shit with bringing more people, making the mob have more hp, etc. If you don't want to play that way you're not going to see end game content, and that is just the way classic EQ was. Maybe find a different game?

Would love to see 33 of blues best kill AoW, Wouldn't even be enough dps to take him into summon before clerics oom. Saying AoW requires 30 people because it was done '15 years ago' and everyone knows the content is just stupid as hell. Yes the content is known, and thats why you won't kill him with 30 people on either server.

I am sure at one point empire had 90 for a vulak kill, but not every kill. Last kill was under 60 people iirc, all depends who logs in for the night really! If only every paladin carried 5 soulfire charges around for PVE on red, prevent lots of deaths on a heal mishap. But considering were on a pvp server, yeah.

Also vulak pales in comparison to aow kill.
