Server seems the same as usual, at least to me. P99 has traditionally been more solo-centric then the equivalent era of historic EQ was. That probably reflects the times; the online gaming player base isn't the same now as it was fifteen years ago. As for challenge...it's the same game as always. Lots of players here were little kids when EQ was new and kids tend to be bad at everything, so it seemed hard to them. Those same kids are adults now and see the game's not remotely as tough as they thought.

Sometimes it's hard on here to find groups, and even when a player tries to build them oftentimes the other folks he asks would rather solo. That's nothing new and represents a major reason why folks who're leveling are often encouraged to join one of the various leveling guilds.

Challenge is a personal thing. Any retard can solo to 60 on a necro by fear kiting light blues. Equally, anyone can try to hold the SolB royals with a group of L35. The problem is that at the highest levels of the game, variance means you have to zerg.

They should take the mage treatment a step further here.

All classes get 25% exp soloing no matter what, 50% exp in a duo, normal exp in a trio and with 4, then 25% bonus with 5 and 50% with 6.
