Amen to this. We'll do it by ourselves and I wouldn't want it any other way. Teaming up with multiple other guilds to down a dragon feels like using an aimbot in CS. It's fun for like 5 minutes then you realize if you have to resort to that you're just really bad at the game and should quit.

Asgard/Forsaken combined are roughly the same numbers as Rampage in NToV.

Asgard/Taken combined are roughly the same numbers as BDA in VP.

We don't "just compete" with BDA. We "barely notice they are in zone".

No question that these patchwork raid forces of gimps who struggle to compete on their own are discouraging to the authentic guilds.

The bigger issue here is the dysfunctional state of dragon raiding on p1999 which enables these pick-up raiders to thrive because 99% of all in game content can be straight up skipped. A significant portion of the most desirable encounters can be done in 20 minutes from start of mobilization to corpse on ground. As long as you win the FTE race and have a few guys who have a Ph.D. in running in circles there are nearly no limitations to what you can zerg to death with auto attack and a handful of clerics. These rent-a-raid nerds would not sit next to eachother for 3-4 hours if they had to clear trash or make any tangible effort.

The grand irony of p1999 is that the most un-classic thing of all is the dev's refusal to evolve the content/rules to the landscape of the server seemingly in an attempt to keep the emulation 'classic'. You bet your life that if this dumpster fire was raging on live 15 years ago that there would have been 10 patches to get it under control.

we voted yes: 35% to no: 65% with a merger with Forsaken before Velious launched. Some people have very strong feelings against a merger, and some want the merger. So far, the decision not to merge has been working out for us.

We spent the first 2 months gearing out in Kunark+HOT armor to be able to take on the harder content in Velious. Now we are accomplishing it with Forsaken and dominating VP with Taken.

Spent the last 4 days staring at our Forsaken buddies in NToV clearing tons and tons of trash, keeping buffs up socking, and racing a mega guild at every turn.

Rebbon just mad that asgard/taken alliance is working well and has been regularly making a sweep of VP since joining up. Before that, while everyone was racing around on velious content, bda was clearing it. In the last month BDA has gotten 2 vp dragons(one is a team up with taken), all the rest to taken/asgard.

Rebbon perhaps rustled at the asgard/forsaken alliance getting ntov mobs and the only BDA got a messy ikitar?

Rebbon rustled by rampage using Divinity and they scored some aow loot twice now?
