No doubt, a pair of those are pretty beefy. I could have sworn that High Elf Magicians could choose Solusek Ro, along with Humans. Mages lamented they weren't listed on the rings back in the day, for good reason.

Read up on the wizard epic quest. It's all about how some uppity wizards tried to betray Solusek Ro, so he stole their powers at key moments are caused their demise. Sol Ro is the only reasonable choice! (Tunare high elves do get a sweet mask though.)

Doesn't that make it hard to do a Halas part of the epic quest? Small things I know, but I remember struggling with that part on live as a DE wiz.

Religion in EQ:
Pros - Get to use deity specific items.
Cons - Detrimental faction

That's it. The rest is all for your specific role playing pleasure. If you want to take advantage of the only real bonus religion gives you as a wizard, go Sol Ro. If not, seriously, do whatever you want.

I was going to make a human wizard of Erollisi Marr who's schtick would have been passing on her Love to pitiable mobs through the gift of involuntary euthenisation.

In the end I chickened out and went Anon.

Wizards are one of my sour points in EQ; with humans there is no beardy old man face for a wizened wizard, or a big beardy ginger face for a fiery demeanour wizard/magician!

Those rings actually look painful. Like Sol Ro is sapping the strength of his followers and presumably using it for a nefarious purpose. Like burning a forest or orphanage or something.

Anyway I'm Sol Ro gnome. We'll see if it lasts!
