I think a blue server split where you move half the raiding guilds to another server would honestly re-create a more classic Everquest experience but it would never happen.

I am still hopeful for Green 99 to help.

Can you imagine going back to Antonica + Kunark only with the numbers this server has grown? Or even just Pre-Kunark?

The Extra zones Velious offers has at least helped a little bit.

We have a guy on red like this. His name is Lite. Apparently GMs can't prove he's boxing though.

Hell, on live you'd actively recruit people who had the intention to level up to then help them get to 60 so you had more capable raiders. Guilds had to invest in new people and those new guildies had to then pay back that debt. With the game costing money to play, people would stop whenever time became scarce, making it even harder to keep up a solid active roster. P99 sort of bypassed all that and what with the time between Velious and Kunark and no new server(s) to play on, yeah, it wrecked that part of the game pretty bad.

Blue end game is toxic because we were in Kunark for 4 years which created too many level 60s, too many top end raid guilds, etc etc. The population is just heavily slanted one direction.
It's Chardok, its always been Chardok, and as long as Sirken allows blatant XP exploitation (Chardok AOE group) there is no cure in sight. Even if they fixed Chardok AoE by making a max number that can be affected by AOE Stun, the damage is already done and the server is forever non-classic.

And those asking for a new server...Not sure you understand what will ACTUALLY happen on a new server. All a new server would accomplish is to show you how f#cking retarded people get about EQ and how quickly No-Lifers will outpace the common man (IE level 60s in under a week, cash camps perma camped, raid content locked down within the first month). At least now semi-casuals can get some loot, its not 100% impossible like it would be on a new server.

Well before it was Chardok it was Skyfire, but I get your point. Characters would cost money via a subscription fee, on p99 that isn't applicable so you can mass characters. Massing characters allow you to sock multiple targets. A fresh server (green99 ?) would likely suffer from people locking down guises or people racing to 60, that will always be the issue. I'm saying that if you just movelog half the raiding guilds that are on top of each other it would ease all this congestion.

Right now you have plenty of guilds that could defeat NToV and Sleepers content (it was easily proven on beta) but there's that artificial barrier of entry required due to variance and poorly tuned encounters. Sont shouldn't be a 70 person raid if they are all 60 and very well geared, Velious Dragons that fear aren't properly tuned. If Ramp has all their buffers do their job and then switch to rogues the content isn't tuned right, period.

Rampage, Forsaken, Asgard, Taken, Divinity, BDA, plus the guilds that haven't dipped their toe into that realm like Azure Guard, Europa, Omni, Anonymous, and Clue. ToV is already a disaster and only two raid forces have really fought it out. What happens BDA and Divinity decide we want to get into the act. Four guilds in north wing will suckkkkkk.

No one will back down either, it will be trains and concessions and lawyering and shenanigans until the end of time with each guild using any new player as a resource. More human coal to be shoveled into the maw of the infernal machine to get dem pixels.

Could always go off the Classic reservation and implement character fatigue debuff that increases exponentially for each hour in game and fades at only half that rate while offline, or at a bunkhouse ^^

shut up and contest - you're supposed to be a top tier guild now (which guild has the most members on this server?).

If you won't, watch another BDA breakaway faction emerge.

I don't think any solution should actively discourage a person from playing his or her character. More repops would help, that way guilds have to choose what to go after.
