Way of kings, mistborn, and steelheart are all good books to start on with him, but keep in mind theyre all ongoing series

3rd way of kings book is coming out next year, hes currently finishing up the 2nd arc of mistborn, and the final steelheart book will be out in february i believe

definitely agree with the Sanderson recommendation. Especially if you enjoyed how he finished off the wheel of time. Some others that I have liked:

Brent Weeks - Night angel trilogy is awesome, and the lightbringer series is off to a good start
Robin Hobb - Farseer Trilogy
Jim Butcher - Codex Alera series and the Dresden files are good reads
Michael J Sullivan - Riyria Revelations
Steven Erikson - the malazan series
