Makes sense in light of the October 2001 2-hander upgrade patch and the quest coming out after the mid-velious general upgrades.

The trivial levels are rough to research. Seems that there might have been a change to some of the levels in 2002 some earlier people are claiming that everything is trivial at 175-180, then others are later claiming that the final combine is not trivial < 180, then you also have people using the +5 blacksmithing bonus hammer.

The 2001 posts seems to indicate most of it is trivial at 175.

Chromium Blade
Forge the chromite ore into a plate. In a forge, combine the Ore + Forging Hammer + Flask of Water. It is known to be trivial at 118 smithing.

Added Chronium Plate at 118 trivial.

Still need research or best guesses on the rest of the combines in OP.

This post says the final combine was trivial at 168 smithing as of 2002. And the final folding of the metal seems to be the only thing that wasn't trivial during the questline at that smithing lvl.
