![]() I was just wondering what the general benefits are of having an ornate velium pendant.
The most beneficial one I've heard so far for me is that it would make getting through Siren's Grotto to Western Waste less risky. How much truth is there to this? Also, what are some of the other benefits to it? Now, a side note, the only classes I really play are an Iksar Monk (who doesn't care much about faction in general except for Coldain Dwarves atm) and an Enchanter (so he obviously wouldn't need the pendant).

![]() From what I've read its only real use is to get through Siren's Grotto. Siren's Grotto is a massive pain in the ass, though, so I wouldn't dismiss the item just because it's usefulness has a narrow scope. That being said, as a monk, you can just run through the zone and FD to drop aggro when necessary.

![]() On low lvl chars you can use it to bank in CC. Lotta places where you're threatening you can use it to get to dubious. or from dubious to apprehensive.
It's decently useful but requires some creativity.

![]() Siren's Grotto - Without any SG faction hits taken, you can move from threateningly to dubious and walk through the zone with no aggro.
Dragon Necropolis - Without any faction hits taken, you can move through the Chetari area not aggroing any of the ratmen. Snakes, trap mobs and the diseased rats will aggro you though. The Hole?? - Without any faction hits and a clicky earth elemental illusion I believe you can become non-KoS to all elemental. Just have to avoid imps / ratmen, and have IvU for the undead, waiting on pathing you can walk from entrance of the Hole to Yael without aggro. Unsure if faction neck is sufficient or if you need a higher enchanter faction spell. I've done this on an enchanter with the 2nd tier faction spell, dunno if I tried first tier (neck click) Odds and Ends quests. I used a faction neck early on to move from warmly to ally to turn in a Halls of Testing BP. It can often bump you up a tier of faction to finish random quests.
