Gnoll fangs are great xp and I've seen so many spontaneous groups form there. Both of my ogres always collected other players wandering around and we did a lot of killing (the faction you get as an evildoer is a nice bonus, too - neither of my guys are KoS to Qeynos guards any more). But it's a long walk from Nek and turning in the fangs is a bit of a pain as a baddie.

I'd not tried the Qeynos route until recently and have to agree that gnoll fangs are fantastic xp. Travel shouldn't be too bad if you can find a Druid or wiz to port you. Just lay bare your noobness and you shouldn't have trouble finding a ride. Be sure to get a sow too and run like the dickens ^^
