That is sad.
Theres an old story about a hiker shooting a black bear in the skull 8 times with a pistol and knocking it unconscious and not a single bullet actually penetrated its skull.

I hope I NEVER face a bear like that. Thank God the hiker was able to at least knock it unconscious. Holy smokes that would be scary!

I hate to post this on the internet, but afa home defense goes.. I would argue a shotgun with 'illegal' modifications to make it easy to move around indoors, loaded with less than lethal rounds would be ideal. This can prevent bullets from killing your neighbor and hopefully not end some misguided teenagers life who wanted to steel $40 worth of my wife's beanie baby collection while he thought we were away from the house so he could get high, an effect of youths having nobody to turn to talk to in this nation if they come from a less than ideal family situation and need guidance. Also the sound of a shotgun cocking will make most trespassers flee pretty quickly.

It all comes down to one thing, if you are ok with killing people for any reason. I'm one of those people you guys love to hate, that cant get behind that.

Luckily for my cause, it will win out, our liberal values ALWAYS do.. they just take time, time for your children & grandchildren to grow up and continue to make the world a better place than it was a generation before them.

PS rog I was just cringing at our leader talking about guns in relation to the human body and how bullets affect people on impact lol
This story is almost as devoid of reality or rationality as that story I read about the rib woman who was convinced by a snake to do the 'don't do' thing that was placed there by the omni benevolent being who seems to love dishing out vengeance.

you were all about gun control in that other thread a while back right? Not surprised you would advocate something as misinformed as "shoot to maim".

remington 870 loaded with 1oz slugs for my "misguided teenagers". The best that poor child is going to get from me is the first round I load (00 buck, less penetration), but if he doesn't drop to his knees and convincingly beg for mercy after that, (or if he is armed regardless of how convincingly he begs), there'll be a nasty mess to pick up.

It's just the humane thing to do. You wouldn't torture a rabid dog by shooting its legs off with birdshot, would you?

The justice system is toothless for fear of harming innocent men, and rightfully so. But if I find someone in the middle of committing an act of violence against my household or family, they can be culled with 100% certainty that there will be no miscarriage of justice.
