Default Befallen

Yesterday I grouped with a few people in the 'Befallen' dungeon off West Commonlands. Never been there before. I guess by the time I started playing EQ back in 2005 no one went there much, so I never heard about it.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun! I took my lvl 4 Pally there (Westronn) along with an SK and a necro, and we ended up adding another pally and a monk. The XP was great, it was dangerous as hell, and the CR back from Freeport is a bit of a drag (watch out for that wandering ghoul in W. Commonlands on the way back) but the grouping really made for a fun time.

The other thing I would like to comment on is that it is refreshing to see how generous people are to new players. I have had people walk up out of the blue and give me nice weapons, armor and even plat. I have tried to pay it forward when possible, even though my 3 toons are low level and they don't have much. As I level up and am able to do more to help, rest assured, I will. As difficult as Classic EQ may be, people being nice like this goes a loooong way in making up for that!

Befallen is a great first dungeon, glad you are having fun and welcome to P99!

There are definitely more nice people here than dicks, but we do have a few HUGE dicks. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The fact that you are in Befallen at lvl 4 means that you probably did not pick Dwarf as your race for paladin. This is a mistake as you will never be able to experience the barrel roll. Dorf master race.

Yeah, I have done some great levels, with kick-ass... eh, kick-bone(?) groups in Befallen recently. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

One thing we noticed was that a lot of the skellies had bandages. Are they wannabe mummies?

Befallen is always a forgotten dungeon. It also has the largest ZEM of any dungeon. It was also a favorite of mine. There are traps, puzzles, keys etc.

If end game dungeons were like this but scaled for difficulty, could you imagine?

Yeah, nobody was going there anymore so they kicked it up a few notches trying to attract more higher levels to come back.
