Default Getting weird crash

Okay so I can log in, now I am facing this error when I boot up from the server selection screen.

http://i.imgur.com/VO8ytpF.png

When I start up from server it goes into windows mode regardless of my options not being for window and then after 2-3 secnds that error pops up.

I'm sure I followed the download instructions to the T. Not sure what's going on, yesterday it wouldn't even let me click anything when I started up to main menu.

I'm using windows 8.1 with intel rapid storage tech if that even matters.

This solution to this is actually very simple. Go to your EQ folder. Find the file eqclient.ini and open it in a text editor (i use notepad, its the simplest to use)

hit ctrl+f, type windowedwidth, you should see something like this:

WindowedWidth=1280
WindowedHeight=768
Width=1280
Height=768
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WidthWindowed=1280
HeightWindowed=768

change it to this:

WindowedWidth=800
WindowedHeight=600
Width=800
Height=600
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WidthWindowed=800
HeightWindowed=600

I'm using 800 x 600 here, but you may need to fiddle with that a bit. If 800 x 600 isnt working, try using your monitors native resolution instead. Eventually, you will get a combination that works, just keep trying.

Nope, still same error, it will connect to the server, start playing music start loading the zone and BAM, I get the error as posted above. It seems like the game is getting closer and closer to actually working yet I have no idea what the problem is, I've been searching and searching. The first time I did this I remember it be difficult but got on PJ99 within an hour of downloading it, went to west commons and told that guard "WE AINT GOT THAT MANY DIMES!, COMON BOYS LETS GO BACK TO CAMP AND GETS US A SHITLOAD OF DIMES" (monty python reference). But it just seems to want to lock me out. I have a feeling of the worst right now.

I know its runs on windows 8.1 people who have the same OS can run it. I wonder if it's my GPHX card which is MSI gtx 970 afterburner, when I go to settings there is two selections for the same card.

I'm on 8.1 and it's fine. Are you running in compatibility mode?

If needed, go to your EQGame.exe - right click and open properties. Then click on the compatibility tab. Should look similar to this
