I always thought it was bazaar that cockatrices aren't considered animals. They're freaking giant chickens, come on bros!

Spiders in velks are actually not animals. They are crystaline creatures in the form of a spider.

Unless you cast ignite bones on them. Then they turn into regular spiders after the skeleton form wears off.
