How bout this for gun control

If you own a gun, you cant vote. Since you are the silent watch protecting us from our darkest shadows, it is the sacrifice you must make. Problem solved.
Lol. Starship Troopers esque?

Good book, by the way. Don't watch the movie please.

Also even if that paranoid delusion of only outlaws will have guns actually did work out that way...

I dont fear outlaws with guns now, Ive never seen an outlaw. The only thing anyone should fear is stupid parents that have guns.

Getting rid of guns protects people that are smart enough to not have guns in the first place from dumb people that are all HUR DEE HURR I GOT *BLAM* dead neighbor.
You poo-pooed when I pointed out that there are big corollaries between fun ownership and lots of other things, but it's true.

Guns in the hands of properly educated and cautious citizens are no risk to others. Most of my family had owned (and carried) guns for their whole adult lives, with none of us ever having any mishap. Just like we all drive cars without killing anyone, drink alcohol without endangering our kids, fetilize our lawns without making bombs, clean our kitchens without making meth, own matches but have never burned down a house, etc etc etc.

Banning guns would create more trouble than it stopped. Taking reasonable steps to make sure gun owners are responsible? That's more like it.

I've always politically leaned left. But I never bought into the gun control crusade. Sure the NRA opposes good laws now and again (generally for the benefit of the gun industry) -- and gun nuts strike me as pathologically paranoid too. However, the reality is they gun control advocates never really connected the dots for how cracking down on legal guns is going to get rid of illegal guns.
What about Sandy Hook? This mentally stable Connecticut kindergarten teacher owns guns, her mentally addled son gets a hold of them and shoots up the kids. Then I hear all this shit about better mental health screening for guns...but he didn't buy the guns did he?; the woman that will pass any test we come up with did.
It strikes me as a waste of Political capital. There are more important issues to tackle in society than legal gun ownership. Maybe we should look at reasons people shoot other people in the first place and try to address those issues.

Even if they tried to disarm the American people there'd still be 1000s of unofficial weapons hidden away. If someone wants to shoot someone, they'll find a way.

Here in England we're 99% disarmed, so we get our fishing knives, kitchen knives, baseball bats etc and carry on regardless if we feel the need. Can't stamp out violent behavior completely, this isnt Demolition Man where society has evolved beyond violence... what a joke.

I don't support the guy who killed the lion. I would never go to Africa, or anywhere else, to kill an endangered animal. But why yell redneck? Why act like a bigot? Don't you think if you cared, you'd propose a law to ban America citizens from trophy hunting abroad? I'm sure the NRA would crush the bill, but wouldn't that be a logical way to solve this? Yelling white trash and threatening this dentist's life accomplishes nothing except to make people look petty. Is that so hard to understand? You really think I'm an idiot because I believe people who are activists should actually propose something to fix an issue that they claim to care about?

I took 2 seconds to think of an idea how we could help. Ban US citizens from hunting abroad. Wasn't that more satisfying than doing nothing other than yelling into the echo chamber of the Internet?
PS, if you start that petition on whitehouse.gov, I will sign it.

God Bless

ya man I have 2 actually but I wouldn't be sore if someone passed a law and said I could only have a shotgun in my apartment because its too dangerous to have bullets that could just as easily graze my home invaders and penetrate the walls killing them on accident. Hell I wouldn't be sore if they said I couldn't have any gun at all! I know that shotgun isnt going to actually protect me ever unless zombies.

On that note right there, if the people that were pro gun just went out right and said, 'we like guns because they are fun, please dont take our fun away!' I would be able to listen to thier arguments, cus thats the only one that holds any water at all and at least they would be arguing honestly.

I could also see the defense for someone in rural areas need a gun to protect themselves because they live in unassailable areas that make police take too long to arrive to. I know plenty of people that dont fit in that category that use it as an excuse as to why they should be able to keep their guns in their Arizona track home developments.

Finally yea, when people try to muddy up any arguments by saying things like, we dont ban cars or alcohol and those things kill people, are you going to be after those things next?! I cant stand that cus its just like damn, if Im arguing for gun control you think that means that Im arguing to take all human rights away? lawl.

tl;dr - FUCK I TOO LONGED AGAIN
basically nothing you say makes any sense and your stances are pure tribalism and raw stupidity

since I know you used to play on RZ back in the day I know you're older - which is sad - would have hoped you grew out of your stupidity like most of us do
