I also quit and went to FFXI, best community I've ever played with in an mmorpg was on Ramuh.

EQ was pumping out expansions and changing the game quicker then I wanted them too, Planes of Power was amazing but it started to get too much too fast after that.
Holy shit you played on Ramuh too? What was your name? Remeber anyone by the name of Oobobb, Teirel or Sumoto?

I think it was called Gates of discord.

Tried my best to get into the raids etc their but was honestly not eq anymore. After you raid Planes of Power rest of it went down hill.

IMHO When you as a player have defeated all the in game gods that is great point to stop and retire.

enough said.

PS Fort those wanting POP experience The Al'kabor project will be going up to POP

It was nothing specific to EQ or Sony that drove me away. April 2004, City of Heroes was released. About a month or three later, I realized I didn't have time for both. So...

up, up, and away...

CoH was such a great game - nearly cried when they shut down the server.

As a cleric, who really doesn't like soloing much. I play a cleric for grouping and hard dungeon crawls. I don't care about min/max, I just want to hang in there by the skin of my teeth.

Then they introduced mercenaries with your very own cleric bot. RIP EQ, until I found you guys. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

While I never 'quit' I am no longer an active live player. Quitting is for addicts.

This would certainly have driven me away had I been there for SoF/SoD.

Spent a week camping Lord Grimrot, never got him, and said why am I doing this? Quit, then came back briefly for the launch of Kunark and then again for launch of Velious. Didn't stay particularly long either time.

Ended up leaving for good and playing DAoC for a couple of years.
