Default Malware?

I installed Everquest Platinum, followed the installation guide. The game doesn't seem to like to run via the shortcut directly, but it seemed to run in the WinEQ window manager. I connected to the server just to test it out. When I exited the game, I noticed that about a million malware programs were running and had installed crap onto my machine. It seems to happen when the game is running, so whether the client or the window manager is the problem, it's hard to say, as I can't run the game without the window manager (black screen.) Anybody else experience anything like this?

Neither wineq2 nor Titanium are going to do this to your system.

You've picked it up some other way. You may have downloaded something fake/misleading.
What I mean is, you may have clicked the wrong link on the webpage that you acquired said files on. Always make sure you're clicking the magnet icon and not opening up an executable when you're on those types of websites.
There are 10 fake download links that open up executables and malware, for every correct download link on one of those websites. You have to be very very specific about what you click and have adblockers installed. I recommend adblock plus supplemented with adfender.

Run a malware scan and clean that stuff up : https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/
