Default Ogre Shaman 75 AGI: starting stats vs. self buff or gear

Is it worth allocating 5 points to AGI on creation or is it preferable to just maintain the AGI buff on one's self? I would like to min-max character creation stats but I value convenience -- would a shaman ever self buff AGI except to negate the penalty? I realize that eventually the 5 AGI might appear on high-end gear, but I can't find anything easily obtainable with 5 AGI that isn't a downgrade from gear that is similarly obtainable.

If self buffing AGI is the norm or a great / inexpensive item has 5 AGI, then it doesn't seem to make sense to put 5 points into AGI, but I'm interested to hear what other min-maxers have done.

The "min-max" concept aims for the late game, so if you are really going for that, don't allocate points to agility. You will eventually come across gear that fills that gap, and your buffs easily supplement it in the mean time. I would recommend wisdom, as stamina is much more quickly max'd thru buffs and equipment in Velious late game.

Wolf Fur Slippers should keep you going for a while. Once you start looking at Golden Efreeti Boots or Iksar Hide Boots, you are in the cash/ability range to get a Djarnns ring for your new agility item, if another slot isn't already giving the agility you need.

For reference, I am a 60 Barbarian shaman, and I still buff agility on myself because I feel it helps mitigate damage slightly. Don't know if its parse able, but I like it, and it's a very low resource cost.

You'll be able to buff it to start with, and later in life chances are at least one piece of your gear is gonna have that +agi so you don't have to maintain the buff. There's also the jaundice shoes which have a mana free clickable agi.

Not needed but I did anyways +5, Fungi is -10AGI so that eats up your agi item, dispelling mobs can also make it annoying to keep agi up. As others have said pure min max you say screw it but there is an argument to be made to put a few in.
