For those having the issue (has been behaving for me the last 12 hours or I would)...

Try a different EQEmu server. Try something like bouncing back and forth between freeport/commons or gfay/felwithe. Report your findings.

My own EQEmu server is called "Wistaria (Test)". Feel free to use it. My bandwidth should be fine for up to 20 people at once.

The issue definitely seems to be a problem with the P99 server. Had it happen again in the middle of a VoIP call (meaning connection was stable or id have lost that too).

This is what the dbg.txt log had to say...

Nothing else gets written, the program is completely frozen at this point.

This is what a normal zoning log looks like, which was captured just a few minutes earlier (while still on the VoIP call btw)

Yes same problem here super long zone times, Ld zoning often. Tested out waiting longer than 3 mins, eventually it reloads but kicks me out of any groups as if i logged out.

Its still happening. The critical issue is that our clients are unable to connect to the next zone server.

Could it be the players? Sure... but when its happening to this many people all of a sudden, its far more likely to be an issue with the server.

Could be due to firewall, anti-ddos, running out of available ports, or any number of server related things.

Was dumped right into the ocean of tears (was taking boat) from this bug. At best, this issue is really frustrating to deal with.

Could the devs please acknowledge that they are aware of this? I posted the link to this thread when bringing it up to Nilbog in Sirken's stream yesterday but have no idea if he took it seriously. He did respond that its a known issue with satellite internet, but I promptly let him know that my connection has always been very a stable wired connection.

Getting some packet loss with the TWC and NTT tier1 networks. If the client doesn't try to connect more than once to the zone server, this might explain the issue.
