To OP:
There will be plenty of people of all levels to group with, the server has been around a long time and lots of people have multiple characters.

And there are plenty of guilds out there, lots for group friends, or people to talk to, and there are a few for raiding once you get there. Take your time, enjoy EQ like it was meant to be.
