why would i pay to play a shittier version of something that already exists with a loyal and dedicated community of actual p99 enthusiasts? PS i got an email today from sony on my junk email account, it had an advertisement for the Ragefire server. At the bottom of the email it says, and i quote, "Play like its 1999." Have you no shame DB?

It's clear to me that Daybreak is trying to capitalize on people who want to box and do so on a fresh server. Though there is a kind of "classic" feel seeing as they are limiting content, thier goal was not to fill the classic niche (p99 already does that)... It was to cash in on folks willing to pay 60+ dollars a month to "dominate" a new server.

Personally the fact that they've limited they number of people allowed online so drastically leads me to also believe they got way more subs then they planned for. Instead of trying to accommodate that, they are fine with letting people cancel subs and don't care about the lost income. It's a pretty dumb and short term move.
