I volunteered here because I got tired of the porn / hate speech / racial slurs spewed all over this forum for the last 6 years I've been here, so I volunteered and stepped up to do something about it.

this is the wrong attitude. your literally saying you have some righteous predisposition in the way you moderate.

having said that, what in the actual fuck is the purpose of RnF if we cant do any of the things we once did here? No porn? No cat videos? No racial slurs? This is bull shit.

Not to mention, there was a complete lack of notification on behalf of the staff, which is poor leadership. Your rule should be respected, and for it to be respected it must be stated clearly. You cant just start enforcing shit we dont know exists. And for the record, i think tasteful mod bashing should be permissible in RnF. If you cant handle some criticism in the form of trolling, you should not be a mod. If you post defensive statements justifying(to yourself) some shit you did, you should not be a mod.

i think its pretty obvious thats whats happened man. they told us for a fact that velious was pushed back as a show of good faith to DB because they have that progression server coming out. this is obviously pressure(or motivation from within) to look a bit more professional to the DB people. My question is, why do we give a fuck? As long as they arent bringing lawsuits, thats all we should want. Further boot licking means something more serious is happening, what that is i wont speculate on.

Having said that, and concerning our dead RnF:

this cencorship is absurd. who are you saving? people who dont like to see titties and racism? grow up. if you dont want to see shit like that, then get the fuck off the internet. Those are two of our longest standing threads in RnF and pretty much the only topics we can discuss civilly. Please give those back. Please allow us to pick our own topics. The other boards are for discussing EQ exclusively and there's a reason we don't post there. PUG ksed my fire beetle threads are incredibly boring.

Everquest isn't new or exciting to talk about. Most of our best posters no longer play. This is just a forum for us old players to meet up and hang out on and discuss how to fix the world's problems, like old men eating breakfast at McDonald's. Don't make us go to Waffle House. No one deserves that.

Pras to the volunteer staff. Last time I checked it was $15 per month for me to play my previous addicting MMORPG before I came back to EQ and found P99. Been on the server roughly two years, and while it's not a huge sum of money, I haven't spent $360ish in subscription fees over the last two years. Classic EQ, which I'm sure we can all agree we love and are here for, for FREE. Show me a better fucking deal for entertainment of this nature. This fucking constant whining is what really is ruining these forums....think outside the box of porn/racism/the vast majority of Kaga posts which usually end in me wishing I had that much of my life back. A classic guild bashing thread is always appreciated as well.

Staff are not always 100% right on everything, but I still support whatever they do because fuck it, free EQ. Anything more, are really just the shrieks of the over-immersed forum dwellers.
