Not to make you repeat your blue experience OP, but a druid is a pretty good first choice on red.

Druid good starting class.

Easy 2 PvP on.

Can port. Can heal groups 1-55.

Have SoW, levitate, lots of buffs to stack (I.e resist buffs).

Have track that once you start tracking it locks on target till the zone/die/camp

Cazic erudite gets see invis quest item. Very useful here on red, especially for a class that doesn't get see invis.

About to venture forth into Red for the first time. Please go gentle, and use copious amounts of lube.

PS - Made a Erudite Cleric, what do you guys think about these for starting point allocation?

STR - 70
STA - 85
AGI - 75
DEX - 73
WIS - 100
