not sure why it matters. the only thing stupid about it will be watching every class (including rogue) probably use h2h rather than weeps, at least in off hand. it will look dumb and basically make 90% of loot worthless in classic.

it doesn't really affect game play though. 32k mobs in classic are obsolete regardless of h2h or not.

Everquest has never been a difficult game. It's punishing if you make mistakes, but once you figure out what not to do, it's more of a process of repetition than of skill.

The XP potion thing isn't a big deal. Those that will be using them will be playing by themselves either solo or boxing.

The problem is the allowance of boxing. What makes Everquest a great game is the community it breeds because of how long it takes to do things.

Oh just did a little more research on hand to hand damage, theres quite a few threads on the Daybreak forums.

H2H ratios are the same for all classes, the only difference is skill caps. So a monk will be 20/26 at 50.... but get this: a Warrior will be 16/29. So basically the best dmg for any class will be H2H, that's petty much a deal breaker for me.

All of Norrath's problems can be solved by punching. I'm in even harder.

Has nobody complained to Daybreak about the problem that's going to cause? We got a classic situation where all the players complain among themselves and nobody reports it?

Start a thread there and see what happens maybe.

OP probably cries about bard kiting and power leveling as well. In other news, some people dont give a fuck about how others play the game. Unfair advantages and shortcuts will always exist in MMOs. Look at the rampant MQing going on here lol. Epic buys instead of epic quests. If you don't like it, dont play it. Just stop sounding like a fire giant.

I'd consider trying it but I've not played WoW for a good 3 or so years now so the idea of starting another game thats 15 bucks a month doesn't really appeal. It appeals even less when I'm essentially paying for what is a live version of P99 till velious is over.

My only real concern with ragefire, and this 3 month launch delay on p99 is this: what's to stop Daybreak, when 5 months from now their population on Ragefire is crap, from suddenly turning around on P99 and issuing a cease and desist as the project is pulling players from their Progression server and negatively effecting profits?

That would suck.

This + Macroquest will make the community suck.

I came to p99 from live 7 months ago. And ALOT of people used it. It's not policed at all. I don't see that changing on the new server either. Community is what makes this p99 fun. That's what MMO's have lost over the years. And these things will kill it overtime.
Agreed

L̶e̶v̶e̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ Grinding takes time and dedication, as does a̶c̶h̶i̶e̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ camping your epic or any other piece of high-end gear. Risk vs. Reward is a concept that classic EverQuest e̶n̶c̶a̶p̶s̶u̶l̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ botched so incredibly well, but even more so an idea of Committment / Dedication vs. Reward. In the early days, n̶o̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ s***** gameplay was handed to you on a silver platter, whether or not you had an extra $20, $100, or $500 to plop down. Sure eBay and PlayerAuctions were an option, but these were never officially sanctioned, and early Verant / SoE took an extremely hard stance on anyone caught using these methods, as they should have.
Fixed.
