Point of the server is to get loot with Empire, delevel, and grief lowbies in rags in dungeons, or level, get plat, twink out a rogue with epic and fungi, and grief lowbies in dungeons.
I dont know 1 empire member that griefs kids on level 20 fungi twinks. You must have us confused with that guild you ally with.

Might have been Velious or Luclin era when I attended a GM event in Nro, out of place mobs with many NO DROPS to be had. I got 2 no drop pieces on a wizard, 1 or 2 on a warrior that was at the rathe Mts event. Something like this during the holidays even the small holidays I remember in this case it was a halloween event, that would make an item loot server thrive. number the zones effected during the event based on the population so no one's jimmes are rustled too bad.
Besides all that I hear people crying foul on LNS how it should be abolished, only real fair thing to put through on that is a possible button, AA like ability 2-3 day cooldown to summon all of one self's corpses (that doesn't have revivability) from every zone to avoid hassling GM's over rot's due to corpse camping should LNS actually be abolished.

The problem with the red server is it started with a crappy rule set requested by the people who just want to grief.

I think there would have been a lot more interest in the beginning if it had some teams (racial imo) and a lot of the mechanics it has now.
Racial or Religious based teams (Sullon) woulda been ideal.

Needs to bring back old school Rallos Zek rules. Thought that's what this server was when I first started, very disappointed.

The sad fact is there are simply not enough people interested in a 1999 eq pvp server. This server only saw growth when the xp bonus was added and blue was shutdown.

They will make another blue server, I would highly doubt they're going to take the ~300 max pvpers and make another pvp server.
