As an outsider to the community, I can tell you that this place is quite toxic. Hearing little pieces about some of the things that go on here does make me think that there is serious cyber bullying happening. Even in this thread the amount of vitriol is pretty sad.
I'm not aware of any history around the mace incident, but I will say that we all share the collective responsibility to hold each other accountable and to be excellent to each other.
Also, Cid makes a good point about not sharing RL info on p99. Make friends in RL. Friends list is for knowing which of your enemies is online.

You are an outsider, and not a very insightful one at that. The stuff that is said here, and the way it is being said, should be put into context. Do you think 50 Cent is toxic, because he sings about killing people and dealing drugs? We have a lot of wannabe 50's here.
Vyenroth was a grown man. As far as I know, he said some things which he regretted after, they were recorded and made public. Supposedly this hurt him a lot.
Does that mean p1999 is the cause of his recent foray into RL pvp? p1999 didn't make him say things he'd regret, to the wrong people. p1999 didn't chain him to the forums and the game either, he chose to stay.
He needed help, which he'll hopefully get now. The only issue is that he didn't get help earlier. Ultimately we can find comfort in the fact that he LARPED a priest, CoD snipers suck.
