Default eqhost

I could not edit it, I tried removing it and replacing it, but it looked like it did not save.
I think I did everything right- from that point on. But I could not edit, and save that txt file. I did not click on the desktop icon to star the pacther- I will see how it goes (after a little rest)

right click on the everquest folder and go to properties, then click on securities tab. give yourself full control and you should be able to edit the file. just had to do this again when i reinstalled, its a small extra step for the windows 7 users and probably vista too.

What I had to do in windows 7 was create a new doc and write in what was suspose to be the file and save it to a differnt location, then cut and paste the same named file the eqhost is named and pasted it into the folder and it allowed me to change it. when i tried to edit the file it would not save either but this worked for me

You can also just open notepad as administrator (right-click, run as admin) then open the eqhost file from within it.

If you're on windows 7 log in on the Administrator account. Then you can modify the file. Even if your nomral login is set as administrator in windows 7 you don't have the same permissions as "Administrator". It's a Windows 7 enhancement.
