Happens all the time to me - usually when the server pop is high. I will get a blank server select screen, or a message that i need to update my files, or the "an unknown error" message and it will take at least 3 attempts to get in, sometimes 5 or 6. I can go for hours with no problems and then get booted zoning and from then on every time I zone its the same thing. And it only seems to work at all if i completely shut down the client and the launcher between attempts. It may be coincidental but I never seemed to have this issue before the Dec 4th patch

Oh yeah - it just reminded me when I tried just now - sometimes I get a char select screen that is empty - just newbie Qeynos showing - that scared me

Might wanna try flushing your PCs DNS cache. Seems to help when I cannot log in or get the error message. Open CMD prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns then try logging into EQ. Hope it helps [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
