We have put a lot of work into raiding over the last year, but always within reason, and we've been able to assist each other when we got the spawns at 4am - reasonable amount of dedication without demanding that people give up their wife/work factions.
There would still be a rotation if the guilds assisting each other had agreed to share a spot. Is there any discussion on the fap boards to work towards that again and bring back a rotation?

The qualifier was that the guilds would be forced to share a slot on all mobs, and at all times of the day, removing the opportunity to act individually as a guild in the parts of the day that was reasonable, and helping out each other when that was the reasonable solution.
The demand for the rotation to stay in tact was that a guild had to use the same tools to beat Gorenaire as to beat Maestro (ally on one ally on all), and most of us didn't think that was reasonable.
On top of that, there was also a tier system where consecutive terrible spawn times on the same mob (again, talking about what we want to demand from our members in terms of getting out of bed in the middle of the night) would complete remove access to not only said mob but to a whole host of mobs that was put in the same "tier". As an example you had to be able to kill CT within 60 minutes any time of the day to still have access to mobs like Sev and Fay, and you had to be able to do the same with Gorenaire to have access to VS etc.

I don't really want to argue about what is right or wrong about the proposal here, as it was already done in FAP and at length in other parts of this forum, but I think its important that everyone has a good understanding of what the proposals meant and then they can make up their own mind.
We are where we are now because a majority of the guilds didn't want to submit their members to the proposed system and the massive changes in the way we operated in the Class R environment, and when the changes couldn't be forced through, a number of guilds choose to suspend/end the rotation because in their eyes FFA was better than the current system.

I hope that is a fair representation of what happened.

Currently there are no real negotiations going on around the rotation, since the parties are to far apart in what they are willing to ask from their members (which is why we are seeing Taken getting a "free" Sev), and how they want to operate as entities both individually and in alliances.

Raiding Alliance is a great idea, but still don't change the fact that we'd need to have 25 people neckbeard for 16 hrs (400 man hours? crazy!) and that's simply not something any of us are willing to.
25 people? That's insane. Trakanon is the only mob you absolutely need more than the Cothers/FTErs on for (which is 2-4 people), and that's because you need people on to start cothing quickly if there is competition.

Obviously you need people logged out where they should be and be ready to log in either from a vent command (play alts, or some other game, or just watch netflix on your computer, whatever) or have some sort of text messaging service setup so you can batphone.

But No one but the trackers/cothers need to poopsock. I think Taken gives DKP for poopsocking but BDA definitely doesn't require it - some people may still do it and shoot the shit in vent but no one is forcing them.

I got my wu fists back when noble was what we could realistically grab back when we were a fledgling guild. We aren't socking nobles now because no one wants to do it.

Also, shut up nerd.

Seems like when the rotation was active, everyone was bitching that it just gave out free pixels to people who didn't "deserve" them. Class C called for an end to the rotation.

Now the rotation is dead (comatose?) and all the complaints seem to be that those same guilds getting shit for getting "free" pixels are now not getting the pixels they "should".

I disliked the rotation cause it wasn't fun. Not much excitement in slowly assembling a force for a mob you know you have 3 plus hours to kill.

Solutions?
Release Velious
Dismantle Class System
Turn /petition off
Let shit sort itself out naturally.
