What is the native resolution of your monitor? Provide a link to the monitor, or model # or something.

If you still can't get it to work, download and install wineq2.0. The free version works fine. That will give some additional options for your eqclient.ini

my monitor is 1440x900. this is how my video portion of eqclient.ini looks.

WinEQHeight=900
WidthWindowed=1440
HeightWindowed=900

wineq2 makes it permanent windowed mode unless you buy the full version, right?

That blows ;p

Thanks Nilbog. But I don't want perma-windowed mode. My ini file looked exactly like yours, but with 1680x1050 in the spots where you have 1440x900. It didn't matter, it crashed constantly.

I figured out a way to get it to work. It sucks but it works. I have to change my desktop resolution to 1024x768 and the game then launches. Everything is ok once I get to the character select screen and in game, it's just the launching that has an issue.

My "windowed" game is fullscreen. The only difference is that I can alt-tab immediately. There is no other difference that I can see.

To each his own, I suppose.

This is what I have to do to get full screen without crashes.
Set desktop resolution to 800x600.
Set EQ Resolution to 800x600.
Log in.
Change EQ resolution(windowed) to desired resolution.
Change desktop resolution to desired.
Go full screen.
Change EQ resolution(full screen) to desired.
Make EQClient.ini READ ONLY.

No promise that this will work for you, but it has worked for me.
