I leveled to 60 with zero exp bonus with constant pvp and where you lost 1-2% exp every time you died in PVP, including in levels such as 59 where it can take an hour + to grind that back. I'm not sure what you're talking about with free gear unless you mean some friendly hand outs, something easily obtainable on blue. And I'm not sure how not having to poop sock mobs is "carebear", we fight for the mobs.

Isn't there just one guild on red that gets all the kills. So there isn't reallt fighting. Just a big zerg force?

There's one big guild and a smaller guild. The smaller guild just contests VP at the moment. That could easily change as the raid scene is always evolving. I still believe Red99 is the perfect place for a mid-range PvE guild on blue99 [whatever class that is] struggling to reach the next class here. While PvP might not be fun to many people due to EQ being in an unbalanced PvP game, most raid PvP encounters can be won solely based on numbers and positioning. With the new Play Nice Policy that allows you to call Loot and Scoot, no one can sit on your corpse and you suffer really zero long term damage from losing a fight.

Tried playing on blue , got to level 10 and went to Blackburrow. Every gnoll had a level 60 and a fungi twink parked at its spawn point. I killed two gnolls and looted one tooth. I was immediately flooded with tells informing me that I did not have the proper clearance to kill gnolls. That I would have to join one of the guilds that were currently on the rotation and wait my turn for teeth. Before I could even send a reply 6 lawyers spawned and filed camp dispute papers against me. True story.
