Biggest difference between Holo and Nihilum (and it is quite significant) is that it isn't a dictatorship and there are more people in leadership positions to share the load. Less snobby from the top, lack of an elitist attitude.

tbo though some of those things are what kept Nihilum on top so long, to the point I think the server became too dependent (see Derubael's post about not disbanding Nihilum after the initial RMT allegations due to fear of killing off the server).
We are not Nihilum, we play Eq to have fun, it's not a full time job for us. We will never be like Nihilum, and what we are doing seems to be working just fine. You are perfectly welcome to join us on each and every raid and partake in gearing of your toons which will be awarded to you based on your lvl of guild participation.

But if you are waiting for Holocaust to become Nihilum 2.0 then I feel you will only be disappointed by our guild.

Not at all, we do not have a DKP system and we would never even contemplate destroying an item before giving it to a member who needs it. Our members do not purchase items from guild bank they are freely given to those who need them.

Perhaps you should spend more time in Holocaust because you don't seem to understand how we operate.
Did not realize you were the designated Pikrib for Holo.

Nihilum didn't have a DKP system either bro. Nobody ever spent DKP, it was just attendance points. Holo uses a council (same as Nihilum) and if you don't think they are using attendance as a huge factor in loot decisions I don't know what to tell ya.

But almost everything you insinuated about Nihilum was incorrect. Attendance was not mandatory, nor was there a minimum amount of raids you had to attend. People were free to play casually (I'm evidence of this) and not looked down on because of it. Lower level players (as low as 46 for new to the server players) were tagged and allowed to raid, and unless you were a recruit who joined like 24 hrs before you'd get rotting loot. I remember Pappa getting like 4 VP weapons in his first VP raid like 48 hrs after he app'd.

Sorry man, what you're doing is revisionist history. The reality was Nihilum was 100 warm body casuals with 10-20% raid attendance being propped up by 15 neckbeards.

pretty much why nihilum was one of the shittiest mmo guild experiences i've ever had. the neckbeards amongst us would defend the dragons and slay them for people with 10% RA who would loot items and quit on a never ending cycle while the core neckbeards had 0 upgrades to look forward to. best was when this was brought up over and over again and people like zarah and kinamaraa who had more forum posts than dkp would cry about intangible value and shit on elf sim. yaw ok.

Yeah I agree with that. It was a bad cycle...someone like Rallyd would complain about always having to pull VP all the time and how nobody knew what to do because we'd just sit at the entrance and afk until we got CoH'd or something. Then some new monk would try to do it, fuck up and get reamed out until he was afraid to every try again, and thus the cycle would continue.

I know some long time vets were getting really frustrated with gearing up the 10th round of new bodies while they hadn't taken a single item from a raid in a year because there was always a "main" that had priority. I think some of that was getting resolved though, at least kinda with the main switching policy. Too little too late though, once you turn off the treadmill its hard to get back on. They didn't call it the crown of retirement for nothin'.

I'm sorry but this

pretty much contradicts everything you just said, and if forced to make an opinion about a guild I did not experience myself I'm more inclined to believe the guild leader than a member. I am not holocausts emissary or spokesman. What I said any member can attest to because it's just 100% true, I'm not spinning anything to paint my guild in a softer light, it's just the way things are.

You have Holocaust's TS info you could easily become a member on any toon without my help. But as a guild Holocaust is focused on the future, and you seem to be stuck in the past.

In all fairness to Azrael, they were REALLY sure you couldn't put together a enough people to compete with their 35 bis chars, + eternal light + slosh + all the random untagged people they have following them + their alt army... when they rejected your reaching out.
