It has nothing to do with what side I am on or even if I'm currently active - it has everything to do with taking melee/stick/joust skill out of the game and out of mass PVP. One could argue that it promotes mass dispelling and using other methods to track targets, and it does - and people use these methods currently. In the end, however, I feel it is way more beneficial to just add the nameplates so that the fast paced fighting/assisting/target calling/etc. can remain the dominant quality of PVP. If you don't have a target key for every target on the opposition, mass PVP can turn into stopping for a second to type /target XXX, then waiting for dispells or some visual cue spam. It's pretty lame actually, just like classic golem wands, gate pots, TStaffs, etc.

There have been enough changes to server where the "it's not classic" argument really doesn't hold up. Sometimes changes are needed for the betterment of the server regardless of if they screw up the nostalgia for the 7 masochists that actually enjoy the design flaws of classic EQ.
PRAS - my thoughts exactly.

I used an AON at the KC fight and was basically invulnerable till I caught a one hit proc.

It's way too powerful when so many people have them, which will only get worse.

Agree. It's dumb. Have always advocated for this. And I benefit most from this being kept the way it is; I'm an average at best melee who gets targeted. This helps me survive way longer than I should.

better to blame 4 years of kunark and shit for the # of these that exist

People got nothing better to do than farm clickies... ain't our fault
pretty sure if velious was released 8 months into kunark you'd see about 4x times as many aons on the market now. With golems dropping aon in velious it's going to become ridiculous, clearly we should all be men about it and put name plates on the skelly illusion, it's going to become really boring playing a melee when you can't tell whos who.

aon still going to be a top teir item even with name plates showing.

make it happen
