At 31 I already have 2 crystals, and am not far short of a few more as I disenchant drops. The better dusts and motes drop much more often at higher level as well, and I now have the ability to solo some of the lower world bosses which drop shards.

Someone wasting a bunch of money to get the same things I get while casually playing the game isn't p2w, it is more like pay to keep up.
