You don't have to craft at all, if you don't want to. But there is no denying that utilizing all aspects of the game will yield you more money, more exp, better items, etc. But, to reiterate, you don't have to do any of that to progress.

Trade runs, where you craft something at a regional specialty workbench and export it to another region is the best source of getting money in game right now. It also makes for some of the best PvP opportunities, too. Because you can steal trade packs, or alternatively it can be stolen from you.

I'm not a fan of all the Farmville related shit of ArcheAge either, TBH. But I'm willing to give it a shot and understand that full circle, it only helps me in the end.

I mean, I do not mind crafting if it were simple...but like you said, lots of farmville type stuff I do not care for.

The questing is stupid easy, and the crafting sort of makes up for that to an extent. It's not like "Combine items A, B, and C in to this kiln and get the end result". It's just more realistic (I guess) in that, you need to combine items Z, Y, and X in order to create item A. And item B requires you to plant a seed and water it, and it won't be ready for 3 hours, and item C is something you get from disenchanting items". So I dig it, and I don't at the same time.

Hit Lvl 20 and do far the pvp has been minimal. Thst being said it seems like there is a ton of it once you get away from the areas that your faction controls. Hopefully will get into some of that today.

so when can u start stealing crops etc? everytime I try it says "you are not high enough"

You need to level your larceny, which you can do by opening the pouches you get off of killing mobs.

Just hit 23. Aiming for 35+ and PvP this beta. Will write up a comprehensive review of the game once this beta winds up.
