case and point - heard it on a forum, made his decision.
I think he was speaking about the absurdity of the initial reports of this young man being some kind of paragon of virtue. A good little boy headed to college next year and all. He didn't say anything about whether the police officer's shooting was justified, but rather whether the media portrayal of this man was accurate. But you jumped the gun once again and read far more into his words than is reasonable, only showcasing how you project your own propensity to jump to conclusions.

How exactly is that Orwellian? Unless the police can set up cameras in our homes, I don't really see the parallel. And I wonder how much of that 88% drop in complaints was due to people not filing frivolous complaints vs. cops acting much more professional because they know they're being watched. I like the idea of more oversight for everyone working for government, including police.

Shit i deal with police officers all the time, its not orwellian to make em wear cameras, why do you think they always go after the cameras during protests? Because they dont want anything incriminating getting out. If every cop knew he was getting filmed while on duty and any citizen could get access to the footage with a freedom of information act request, cop crime would go down dramatically.

Asking for cameras everywhere is exactly where that leads; that was your parallel.

Can someone enplane to me how in real life cameras everywhere has proven to be a bad thing, and not cite a science fiction novel as evidence to the contrary?

like where in your daily life or anyone for that matter does a camera on a street corner cause good people to be put in bad situations?

London has cameras all over, are they living in a dystopia because of it?
