Also, nobody ever talks about the discrimination against the Japanese-Americans during WWII. They actually had concentration camps for these people not but 70 years ago, hundreds of thousands wrongly accused and discriminated against for being potential spies against the American people. It was wrong of us, and no amount of paranoia is worth what our government had done during that time.

It's the only time the US supreme court issued an apology as far as I am aware regarding one of their decisions. Been years since I was forced to read that non-sense, but as I recall it was all rationalized because it was a time of war.

my opinion is that the police should be set up like the military. i mean that when people work as police officers, they are police officers 24/7. there should be police housing where only the police live, and they should work terms of 4 or 8 years at a time. everything should be paid for, and they should receive pay on top of that (just like the military).

this whole system we have now, where police have mortgages, cheating lovers, kids, and other civilian problems.. this just isnt cutting it. cops are in debt just as much as everyone else, and they are taking shortcuts because of their stresses.

the only difference is that when a cop takes shortcuts its called being a dirty cop, i.e. police corruption.

Yeah, it's really a shame there is literally no other way to determine what happened. We should start to allow witnesses to testify and forensic science to help reconstruct what happened. And if only police had some method to determine if a person was lying.

last thing I would ever aprove of as a voter would be a more militaristic inhuman police force... ever.

Police need to be more like this:

-- shit.. So I spent like 3 or 4 minuets goggling to find some positive articles on police officers making communities safe and happy places for kids to play in.. I saw an article once where this cop was just - he seemed like one of my high school teachers, he was warm, talking to kids it was great, he was like Robocop was when everyone loved him in the movie before OCP reprogrammed him to be an asshole.

anyway, I searched first Police officer friendly --- and google auto filled it to friendly fire.. then I tried police officer making a difference.. and all it did was find links to jobs sections of various districts... I'll move ahead, my point is - its not because of a lack of reporting, its bemuse of a lack of source material for there to be articles about cops doing GOOD things and being community leaders..

Cops should always be positive community leaders, they should have a smile on their face and nobody should ever fear them. They are there to serve us to help us and make our lives better. They should be welcoming to conversation and open to discussion.

How anyone approves of someone having deadly authority over them in a free nation with blue skies and plenty of jobs, is fucking mind boggling to me...
