It probably stems from me being ripped off years ago for 10k by a "friend" that I had known for months. I'm pretty untrusting now of people that I don't know in real life.
This. I've played EVE Online for a while so I've become untrusting to the point of being almost violent to video game strangers.

Ground transfer is the way to go. One of the best ways to have fun, trying to figure out seclude spots in central locations where you can do it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Just, you know, make sure you have no connection issues. My ISP crapped out few days back, when I was doing a ground transfer and the gear poofed. Worth about half of my "fortune". I was not pleased. :P

I'm still hoping I might get that stuff back, but who knows.

If you don't trust people, then dropping on the ground is the way to go. I've done hundreds of ground transfers since I started playing classic EverQuest and I haven't lost a single item yet. You just have to be smart about where you drop items and quick about picking them up. Good luck!

Ground transfers? C'mon guys, you sound like EQ noobs. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Everyone knows it's all about using ovens or other tradeskill containers. Much less obvious to the casual passerby. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Except people are far more likely to open an oven and work their tradeskills than they are to stumble upon my secret hiding spot high up on the cliffs overlooking Felwithe. Oh crap....I mean my hiding spot in Nagafen's Lair.

No the items just get placed back in your inventory if you close the container window.
