Any entirely unplayable classes on red?

The idea of pure PvP in EQ has never made much sense to me. The game is engineered with such a dramatic penalty for death to make PvE more interesting, along with being among the biggest general timesinks in videogame history. I have a hard time imagining that the fun of red offsets the insane amount of frustration it must cause.

Nothing is unplayable, but there's certainly a ladder of difficulty. Enchanters struggle to land spells as everyone gears for magic resistance. Rangers aren't terrible but they struggle too.

Wizard or druid would help you get around and they do well in pvp (I leveled a DE wizard naked and made it to 49 no problem), necros can level naked and be fine but not the best for pvp (fear isn't usable). Shaman life is similar to necro in the sense that yellow text isn't easy to come by, people tend to zone before they die [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I would suggest starting a solo class or a healer first. im an sk and its pretty hard to find a group but not impossible on my downtime I do quest gear. I think it kinda equals out especially with the faster xp rates

i would play on red if there were more players and only pve.
