Disturbing trend in groups: if you die, you're dropped

Had this happen once, guy invited several of folks to a dungeon I hadn't been to in years (and one of the others hadn't been to ever). He overpulled killing himself and one other and immediately disbanded the group (he was leader) leaving the rest of us to regroup to try and recover the other corpse.
