Not sure if you noticed, but none of the "soccer" fans here said anything about toughness until the meatheads brought it up.
There are way more sports that are more harsh than football when it comes to physical contact, so making that argument is completely invalid. To say that football requires anymore tactical skill than soccer is such an ignorant thing to say. A football game might last about 3 hours with maybe a solid 10 minutes of actual play time, lol. Soccer is so much better (in my opinion) because there is constant movement and any time wasted with fouls, etc. are added in the end anyway. The people who say soccer is a boring sport clearly don't know the game and only look at the scoreboard.
Anyway, just my 2 cents. Please continue the classic discussion on how football is a more physical sport than soccer. Football is obviously a more physical sport but to declare soccer is full out for pussies is stupid. I strongly suggest if you want to watch something with a lot of physical interaction that you watch some professional fighting.

Just because there are sports with harsher physical contact doesn't invalidate the point. Risk of physical injury is important when determining a sport's ability to hold interest. Yes, there are sports more interesting than American football. Soccer, however, is deservedly weakened by the facts that there is little physical contact/injury and the long, long stretches of time between scores. Watching a ball shouldn't be the end-all-be-all of holding a person's interest.
But even soccer is more interesting than many sports.
