I totally agree with OP. I haven't played in years but still check forums regularly hoping for some new server to be coming out or at least to see if I can play velious yet. The release of velious will get the sever to 2k population i feel. I would love a fresh start on a new server, but either would get me back into the game.

Feel the same way. P99 doesn't feel the same as it used to. Ive been off and on since I joined almost 4 years ago.

Would be cool if they launch a new blue server. I would be down for sure. Classic EQ is the best.

I don't think that'd be necessary. If they build it people will surely rush over to it. The only people that would stay would be the butthurt pixel hoarders that raid like it's their job (tinfoil hat area??).. and sooner or later they'd get bored of playing merchantquest and come over to the new server.

Probably because it is their job haha. From a regular player's perspective (not 60, not in raiding guild) the server being so established kills a lot of my motivation to play. Get 60, get shuffled into a mid to low tier raiding guild to get table scraps. I know the scene would eventually be the same way on a new server, but the time between when it opens and when it gets to that point would be magical.

Greatest day of my mid 20's was getting that Beta cd in the mail.. And the two days of patching to get it playable. /sigh This server was fun at first. Too bad the community went to shit so fast. I never even made it to Kunark here. But I'd totally be down for starting from scratch.

I think p99 staff should wipe the server, enforce a month long of only velious beta, and then restart at classic and release the expansions on time in line with their actual releases.
