Cons just help as much as knowing the gear people have, buffs they have, class they play. Its another tool in the toolbox. So yeah maybe Dald is good, I don't know, never played with him, don't know the guy. But I have to admit it doesn't start well when he talks about "failing" to understand the use of con and healing people "likely" in your group. To me that's a patcher. Still want the con colored box back please <3 | |||

I don't want to hear any dev say "classic" until they put the boats in oot back the way they were. They're just being selective. Classic isn't nearly as important as drinking tears.

So we would just point apps and tards to our guild's wiki site, and they would know what was going on for the raid and then any raid directions that had to happen on the fly would be typed out by myself or were hotkeys. I probably had 40-50 raid hotkeys of things that I would have to regularly say, and didn't feel like typing. "Blow up red mushrooms!" For example. Almost all of the raid wiki guides from UF, HoT and VoA were written by myself or another Druid officer at the time. This guide was good fun to write (although I got a bit too verbose with it). That raid was so very awesome. Even with all it's bugs. Atleast until you beat it a few times, then the 2 hour scripted event could die in a fire. Voice chat I enjoy for Just talking/bullshitting. But for raids, I definitely prefer text. EQ lend itself to that pretty well too. Early on we only had guild chat / shout / OOC / auction to filter chat into. And raids were simple then. Raids got more complex, raid window is added as well as raid chat. Also chat channels come into being. Everything, even in modern EQ, can be done easily without voice chat. Would be fun if All Vent and TS servers went down and we got a server repop. Just to see how confused people get.

TS just creates drama and makes the game feel like a job imho and encourages slacking + bad play

Something like "a server to relive the classic EverQuest experience." People come here for nostalgia. Look helps facilitate that a lot. So does functionality. That UI is something most people identify with as a part of the classic EQ experience. You like Classic EQ content, though maybe not the classic feeling as much. Cause I'm sure there were no 60 chanters soloing Drusella in classic. Or 60 shamans using puppet strings and 2 rooted pets to solo Sebilite Prot... Your version of fun isn't the same as others. Plus... I get really tired of people saying how easy crap is with all their non-classic UI features that make the game far more fluid, when it was anything but back then. I'm sure quite a few people's solo artist challenge kills may have failed if they were limited to having a single bag open and limited visibility and a single chat box to watch for spell breaks...
