Well not entirely in terms of Ghosting, basically the server loses your position and then re-aquires it away from it's original point. Yes usually done from loss of connection. So it can appear like your frozen there or like you teleported away from the spot.

But essentially true!

He definitely was not screen dragging as it appears like he disappeared, but can it be discerned that he was certainly ghosting..No!

Swimming down or up in EQ happens at insane speeds on this server so if he suddenly veered down it could look like he disappeared. I'm not saying he wasn't ghosting for sure because IDK! Just saying that this isn't really a cut and dry clear case from the video.
Watch my example video. If you are following someone and they screen drag it will appear as if they are running forward when in fact they have stopped. Once they stop the dragging they will then poof, when in reality they are behind you. If you are playing 1st person or close 3rd person they would then be out of your view.

This is exactly what happened on the video. He dragged, stopped dragging and then swam down out of Teeks view.

Unless the video caught him appearing behind teeks there is no way to prove he actually screen dragged.

He could have lagged, teeks could have lagged. Could have missed him swimming down, too much reasonable doubt to say he should be banned. I could understand maybe a suspension as a warning because it's unclear!

But a ban over such a lack of evidence nah!
I actually agree with Syft on this one. The video of Lithium looks the worst out of all these examples (none of the recreations of this showed someone moving as fast or as far as Lithium seemed to move when swimming straight down), which is pretty bad since I'm sure they were at this forever trying to find a couple clips that looked just right but a ban from this evidence alone is pretty strict. We are also assuming this is the only evidence the GMs had which may or may not be correct.

If people think this server is already crap it is really going to be shit if people actually use ghosting/screen dragging in PvP. If cases like this come up in the future and GMs are 100% sure this is being used the players do need to be banned along with every character they have logged into. Way worse than RMT in my opinion.

I agree that if someone is definitely caught dragging or ghosting they should be banned. But this video just isn't enough to prove that.

But we have to be careful not to just toss bans around. I mean I've lagged once and appeared to be ghosting wasn't intentional at all! My connection just fell to shit athe worst possible time I went Link and thought I ate it! No one was more shocked then me to log back in and find I didn't die!
You can tell someone ghosting vs screen dragging easy. No one ghost in pvp anyway, they do in pve though just ask Brainz and others how they farm seb.
