Start with epic pet, switch to I guess water pet (maybe earth if there's even a chance of the pet surviving a round), heck switch to 49 pet if mana becomes an issue ,and just chain. It would die with probably 25 mages.

Flurry does go through whirlwind but i'm sure you'll be fine, he doesn't flurry that much.

And yeah, mages chaining 49 pet is the way to go.
